Cervical Fracture
Cervical Fractures are a result of significant trauma, falls from a height, motor vehicle accidents. In the cervical spine these can result in spinal cord paralysis. If there is concern for a fracture, this must be thoroughly evaluated by a spine surgeon immediately. Because of the high consequences of paralysis, fractures are often treated surgically to stabilize the bones around the spinal cord. There are minor fractures that may only need bracing, but every fracture should be evaluated by a spine surgeon.
