Dr. Teng specializes in the treatment of degenerative, arthritic, and traumatic disorders of the spine. He has experience in traditional spine surgery techniques as well as the most recent and innovative advances in minimally invasive, microscopic, and motion preserving techniques for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Dr. Teng earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and his master’s degree in Physiology/Biology from the University of Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago where he was given the distinction of membership into Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society. He was also a Geoffrey Gunnar Memorial Scholarship Awardee for his outstanding academic achievement. He then attended Residency at Case Western Reserve University, a nationally recognized Orthopedic Program with comprehensive training in all aspects of Orthopedic Surgery. Upon completion of his Orthopedic Residency he came to California and completed a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at the prestigious UCLA Comprehensive Spine Center specializing in classic, contemporary, and newly developed treatments for spinal disorders.

Dr. Teng has shown dedication in advancing medical knowledge and has publications in several clinical and basic sciences journals. In addition, he has also authored book chapters for the Orthopedic Spine community.

Dr. Teng has interests in golf, volleyball, racquetball, music, traveling and technology. He enjoys a balanced lifestyle and understands the patient’s need for treatment of their spinal disorders so that they too can enjoy the same.
